Finally, I’ve managed to visit the restaurant and it did not disappoint!
Squeezed in the calm and quiet neighborhood on Yenakat Road, Eats Payao recently celebrated its 4th anniversary with special burger sliders for the special prices of 4 THB each!
I’ve heard all about their delicious Khao Soi and an assortment of yummy Singaporean food and I just have to try them for myself.
The Burger Sliders
The burger sliders comprised of Sai Oua pattie and another is Larb pattie. Now, I have to say that I have a hate-hate relationship with mustard … always have … but the Sai Oua burger went surprisingly well with the mustard. In fact, I would dare to say that I’ll eat Sai Oua with mustard from now on.
The Larb burger was true to Thai flavors with all the aromatic spices and seasoning. It came with pickled onion and melted cheese on top. Even the mustard didn’t bother me. I rather enjoyed them to be honest.
Khao Soi
Another one that is a must try and also a famed dish at Eats Payao is the gigantic bowl of Khao Soi. I went with Khao Soi beef (THB 220).
The Khao Soi came with thick slices of beef, plus points for that.
Khao Soi is one of many famous Northern Thai dish that comes with a mix of crispy egg noodles and boiled egg noodles served with pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, ground chilies fried in oil, and juicy pieces of meat in a creamy curry-like texture soup with the coconut milk.
Flavorful and delicious, however, I found the Khao Soi soup just a tad lacking. Would be nice if it was a bit more robust maybe.
Overall, it is totally worth more visits for sure!
The restaurant opens Tuesday to Thursday from 12 pm to 12 am and closes every Wednesday.
