Chef Garima Arora, Asia's 50 Best Female Chef

Congratulations to Garima Arora, executive chef and founder of Gaa in Bangkok, has won the title of elitTM Vodka Asia’s Best Female Chef 2019.

She worked briefly as a journalist before flipping the script and turned to chase her interests and passion in culinary arts. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 2010 and has been building her expertise working with numerous renowned chefs such as the legendary Chef René Redzepi before returning to Asia.

She was appointed the sous chef at Gaggan, the four-time No. 1 Asia’s 50 Best Bangkok in 2016 before opening Gaa in April 2017 showcasing her creativity and culinary inspirations.

Gaa celebrates a modern tasting menu through the use of traditional Indian techniques using locally sourced ingredients to explore the connection between Thai and Indian food.

Arora thanked her colleagues, peers, and those who cast the vote and said that the award is a validation of her team’s hard work and commitment to creating excellence.
