Wild Nature Artisan

Here’s to taking a piece of Chiang Mai with you everywhere

In the era of a global pandemic, artisanal products have become the new commodity people turned to for fresh, organic, and clean products. One such brand that we’ll talk about is The Wild Nature Artisan—An Edible Memoir of Chiang Mai.

The company, Wild Nature Chiang Mai Co., Ltd., was established in February 2020 by two Chiang Mai-born sisters, Dara Wongwan (Noy) and Tubtim Malaiarisoon (Nai).

The project began when the sisters felt the urge to develop and produce specialty artisanal products using natural and organic resources from their very own urban farm and cooperating farmers who share the same vision.

The products come in beautiful packaging with a combination of the colorful and famous Lanna avian bird currently facing habitat loss in the northern region of Thailand.

The packaging design comes in small-sized jars, which means you even can enjoy the flavors on the go.

The company applies ethical and sustainable practices to their urban farm and production lines and is active in supporting organic farming and conservation programs.

While I haven’t the opportunity to try the whole range of the products, I’ve picked out a couple of things for home-cooked delights with air-fried buffalo wings dish generously sprinkled with the Wild Nature Artisan’s organic herb salt, “Always A Good Idea.” It’s a blend of Fleur de sel, basil, thyme, parsley, rosemary, chili, garlic, and lime zest.

Upon tasting the salt, we thought that the salt was very prominent, almost overpowering the other herbs altogether. Still, once we added it to the chicken, the herbal mixtures became more potent, which was lovely.

We look forward to more experiments with different dishes in the future.

Another product to boast is the jam, “Memory of Kindness”—organic roses, lychee, raspberry, and organic ginger. This jam has to be one of my new favorites. It’s not overly sweet yet aromatic and flavorful.

Their selection of tea infusions is nice as well. I picked out a box of Som Shun—a blend of bitter orange, pandan leaf, and ginger with notes of longan and jasmine; and a box of Dreamchaser—a combination of torched ginger, Jamaican cherry, rose petal, Arabian jasmine, coralita flower, and stevia.

While I feel they are too flowery for my personal preference (I’m into red and black tea, mostly), I find the Dreamchaser being a good companion before bedtime. The gentle aroma and flavor help soothe the body and make it easier to ease into sleep.

The company is launching a special Mother’s Day set, which includes a postcard, a bottle of Memory of Kindness Jam, a box of Dreamchaser tea for the price of only B390 (free shipping). I would strongly suggest you guys should grab some. It’s a total bargain.

Wild Nature Artisan aims to collaborate with both Thai and International artists, chefs, baristas, and mixologists in the future to develop more delicious and unique recipes for their future products.
