Nan Tei Yakitori

A new yakitori restaurant offering a refreshing take on the cuisine

Nan Tei, meaning “pleasant shady place in the south,” locates at the Montien Mall, Surawong Road.

The restaurant presents Japan’s traditional skewered chicken to the neighborhood, delivering a dining experience like no other.

Nan Tei aims to bring out the natural and authentic flavors of all top produce through the right amount of seasoning with homemade sauce and a unique salt combination. The restaurant uses salt found 3,000 meters above sea level from the salt lakes in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. The location is renowned for producing some of the purest salt.

Tsukune with Nama Tamago

All ingredient is sourced locally with popular skewers starting at just 60 THB, including Namatamago (chicken meatball dipping with fresh egg), Seseri (chicken neck), Tebanaka (chicken wing), Kokoro No Kori (chicken aorta), and Togarashi (chicken calf).

Hotate

In addition to chicken, the restaurant also added emphasis on offering fresh vegetables and seafood. It’s an adaptation from the sister restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau. These include delicious grilled whole squid to plump Hotate (scallop), oyster, and prawn.

Rounded out all menu is a selection of classic Japanese comfort food, including Inaniwa Udon, Yakisoba, and Soba or Ika Gesokaraage, or Gobo Yuzu Salad.

The restaurant utilizes a whitewashed interior to offer a brighter atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling window panes.
